The tea ceremony is a refined practice of hospitality
through serving matcha. Every movement, utensil, and element of the tea room has meaning, nurturing mindfulness and compassion for the present moment.

Warm Welcome&Introduction
Your tea master will guide you to a tea room, where you'll learn about the history, etiquette and spirits of the tea ceremony.
Demonstration (Otemae)
Watch the host prepare matcha, then enjoy with traditional seasonal Japanese sweets.
Hands-On Practice
Choose your tea bowl and make your matcha. Enjoy a peaceful moment away from the rush of daily life.

To book both the tea ceremony and sake tasting experiences, please make separate reservations for each by selecting your preferred date and time on their respective pages.

After booking, you will receive a confirmation email.
On the day of your experience, come to Sanjo Chasuian. Both Tea ceremony and Sake tasting are held in the same venue. Everything is thoughtfully prepared to warmly welcome you. Feel free to book on the day — we’d be happy to have you join us!

FAQ
1、Is there anything I need to bring?
As you will remove your shoes for the tea ceremony, we recommend bringing socks. For sake tasting, no special items are needed.
2、Can I wear a kimono?
We do not offer kimono rental or dressing services, but you can enjoy wearing a Uchikake (traditional Japanese ceremonial coat-like kimono) for an additional ¥1,100 (tax included). Please inform the staff on the day of your visit.
3、Can children participate?
Children are welcome for the tea ceremony experience (Children aged 6–12 may join under a “shared plan”). For children under 5, only the private plan is available. Sake tasting experience is for guests aged 20 and over only.
4、Can I join if I need with an interpreter?
The experience is conducted entirely in English. For tea ceremony, guests coming with an interpreter must book a private plan to maintain the serene atmosphere. For sake tasting, we kindly ask guests coming with an interpreter to join the session and please note that an interpreter will also be charged the participation fee as one guest.
5、Can I experience both the tea ceremony and sake tasting?
Yes. Please book each experience separately.
6、What is the maximum group size?
Tea ceremony: Up to 10 guests.
Sake tasting: Up to 6 guests.
7、Can I book on the day of the experience?
Yes, if there are available slots. Please check the booking form for availability.
8、Can I change or cancel my reservation?
Please refer to the cancellation policy on each booking site. For changes, contact us via Email or WhatsApp.
